Final Flight

On November 4, 2020 at 4:00 p.m. we were able to stand on the beach at Orange Beach and see the final flight of the 6 F/A-18 A/B/C/D “Legacy” Hornets of the U. S. Navy Blue Angels. This was the final flight of these jets and the transition to the F/A-18 E/F Super Hornet platform. These planes had flown for 34 years.

They left their home base in Pensacola and flew across the gulf to Mobile Bay and then flew to Navarre Beach and back to home base.

It was a site to behold! The cloud and smell of jet fuel lingered long after they were out of sight.

You can find some close-up pictures of this final flight on the social media pages for the U.S. Navy Blue Angels. It was a flight to go down in history so it is very well documented.
