Recently while in Cullman we wanted to grab a bite to eat and we found a restaurant down the street from the Christkindlmarkt called The National. That meant we didn’t have to move the car or try to find another parking spot. It is also not somewhere that we visit often so we checked out some of the stores in the warehouse district and decided to eat at The National. They were serving the brunch menu for lunch.

We started with baked feta with focaccia toast. It was a tomato based sauce with feta pieces in the sauce. A different take on the dish, but each place tries to make it their own. The focaccia toast was absolutely delicious. I had a Caesar salad with chicken. The salad was good, but the chicken had absolutely no flavor. Jeff had “The Burger” with parmesan cheese grits.

Overall the food was very good and this is a place that we’d visit again while in the area.
