My Birthday & Wedding Weekend

This year for my birthday we chose a new restaurant that we had not been to before, we went to Vino in English Village in Mountain Brook. Jeff made reservations and we met there after work, yes I had to work on my birthday. Traffic was awful going into Mountain Brook that night, there was a water main break or something. The maps app routed me up on Highway 31 and to get off at Highland Avenue and work my way around to the restaurant. I had not been that way before, but always good to learn a new route.

We arrived and they took us towards the back of the restaurant to a small quaint dining room. We started with baked burrata stuffed ravioli. Not sure what we were expecting, but it didn’t really look like it sounded. But it was delicious. We just found out about burrata cheese on my birthday last year and now we are seeing it in lots of restaurants.

Next was our main course. Jeff had Cacio E Pepe, if it’s on the menu he is going to give it a try. I had the Artichoke Grouper Bowl, it has blistered tomatoes, baby spinach and baby farfalle.

This year Jeff picked up a dozen bundtinis from Nothing Bundt Cakes. This is their small cakes. He did a variety box and they all had party hat toppers. They are always delicious.

Normally we celebrate Tyler’s birthday the first weekend in July and mine the second weekend. But this year our nephew was getting married in Tennessee the second weekend, so we took my birthday weekend celebration on the road!! Got to spend the weekend with Tyler, Amy and the grandbabies and the rest of the family while celebrating the new bride and groom!!

Mr. & Mrs. Jones!!!
