Looking Back: Weekend in Maryville

We went to Maryville, TN in March of 2025 for the wedding shower for our nephew and new niece. We searched VRBO for a place to stay around the area. We looked at all kinds of accommodations. We looked at homes and apartments looking for what appealed to us. We ended up choosing Blue Bella a loft apartment in downtown Maryville.

It was a beautifully decorated loft in the heart of downtown Maryville. It was above the Bella restaurant. Our weekend was packed full of family activities and we did not get to eat at Bella this trip, they have an iconic pasta wheel! We did get to eat there on another trip, just not this one.

We put the code in at the door on the street and then we were faced with what looked like a gazillion stairs, there is no elevator. Good thing to keep in mind when you are facing that many stairs with luggage.

Our views were of the rooftops of the buildings. So we had to overlook all of the rooftop things to see the beautiful views around us. The views are gorgeous as we were in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains.

The front door to the apartment did not open all the way. It needed to have the bottom of the door trimmed down, it would drag on the floor. Maybe they’ll get it trimmed up before it messes up the hardwood floors.

You wouldn’t know it from the street but there like 5 apartments behind that gray door you see on the street.

It was March and the dogwood tree in the alley was in full bloom.

Saturday morning we got up and drove to Wears Valley to Elvira’s for breakfast. If you’ve been following us for awhile you’ll know that this is one of our favorite places to grab breakfast when nearby or in the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area. This Saturday we didn’t have plans until the afternoon so we headed there for breakfast.

I had something different this time and went with the Breakfast Scrambler Crepe. It was scrambled eggs, cheese, ham, mushrooms, red peppers. It was really good. Jeff had pancakes.

After breakfast we stopped in the Harper Brothers General Store next door and then Townsend Mercantile in Townsend before heading back to Maryville.

We spent the afternoon celebrating Avery and Madi.

We ended the night grabbing ice cream at The Capitol.

If you are staying in the Maryville area we do recommend this loft. Bella Restaurant is downstairs and Capitol Theater Coffee and Ice Cream is on the next block. It is very convenient to everything in the area.
