Back during the fall on one of our trips to visit our nephew in Tennessee we had a day of fun. We started the day by playing a game of putt-putt followed by a trip for homemade ice cream. If you’ve been around for awhile you know if there is a place serving homemade ice-cream I’m going to check it out. Well Cruze Farms has been on my list for quite some time.
We decided not to go to the downtown location because this was football season and the University of Tennessee had a home game. So we drove across town from where we were. I don’t know where we ended up or how we got there, but we did find this location of Cruze Farms.
All of their ice cream is soft serve. Some of us did sample flavors. I sampled the pumpkin and brown butter ice cream. I’m not a huge fan of pumpkin and this was not what I wanted. So I opted for just the brown butter. I think in my mind I was thinking brown sugar. Well it is FAR from brown sugar. LOL! This flavor is indescribable. The 4 of us all tried it and NONE of us could describe it. It wasn’t bad, wasn’t delicious, but was definitely DIFFERENT. You can’t put your finger on the flavor. I think it was meant to be the “crust” flavor to the pumpkin. I ate it and can without a doubt tell you that I will NOT have it on my next trip there.

The flavors on this day were sweet cream, chocolate, peanut butter, cookies and cream, brown butter, pumpkin, sugar cookie dough, strawberry, sweet cream and orange dole whip. Some of them you could get twisted together. Everyone else got normal flavors, but we all did try mine and as I said neither of the 4 of us can describe it. We all still talk about it though! LOL!!
