Celebrating 31 years!

Our 31st anniversary was April 3. This year we just celebrated with local things. On Wednesday, our actual anniversary, we made reservations and went to Seasons 52. This was our first time there. The menu said that they keep all of their food under 595 calories. The restaurant has been open in Birmingham since 2013 and could use some updates.

Our waiter was nice but was trying hard to be a comedian. We started with an appetizer of meatballs and it came with soft pita bread. I ordered the filet mignon which came with roasted mushrooms and a red wine sauce and a side of mashed potatoes and asparagus. Jeff got the gnocchi with tomatoes and an herb salad on top. We also got a side of mashed sweet potatoes and Mac & cheese to share. We finished with a couple of the mini desserts. We had mini key lime pie and mini Belgian chocolate s’mores. It was our first time gotta get it all.

My steak was undercooked, but I ate it. They didn’t bring a steak knife and we didn’t see the waiter again until I had just a couple bites left. I was able to saw it with my butter knife. Guess that was one of the positives to it being undercooked. LOL!!

Jeff picked around the tomatoes and herb salad in his bowl. He kept telling me that he liked the noodles with cheese better than the other one. Said that apparently they had cooked them to long since they didn’t have the cheese in them. When he was about halfway done he said he had finally figured out which was the one he really liked. So he asks me to try the one that he wasn’t a fan of and see what I thought it tasted like. It was a white TOMATO!! My husband who doesn’t eat veggies just ate a handful of tomatoes. LOL!! He said that they weren’t bad but he’s still not a fan. (Note from Jeff: They were bad and I don’t like them.)

We decided to continue the celebration on Saturday. We made early lunch reservations at Bellini’s Ristorante off of Highway 280 on Highway 119. It just came up in a valentines memory, our first visit was 10 years ago. We forgot how good it is!!

I had the linguine and meatballs and Jeff had lemon ricotta linguine and we finished with their famous white chocolate bread pudding. It was all DELICIOUS!!

While there we reminisced about all the meals we’ve shared there over the last 10 years with family and friends.

After lunch we did a little shopping and ended our trip with a FaceTime with our grandson in the car.

Then it was time to head home and get back to chores. Ugh!! It was fun while it lasted.
