We recently had a week night date night. We met at a new restaurant in Trussville called Umami Ramen-Sushi-Bar. I went into this one blindly, I did not look at the menu ahead of time. I assumed if Jeff saw something that he would eat then I would be ok. Once there I had a hard time choosing what to order. We like Japanese style food, but we don’t particularly care for Chinese. But our go to is always hibachi or teriyaki chicken with rice and veggies. We don’t eat sushi. They have a lot of sushi on the menu here. Not having ever had ramen at a restaurant we weren’t sure what to order there either.

So we started with an appetizer of edamame. I tried the Mie Gorang and Jeff had the Spicy Basil Chicken. Mie Gorang is stir fried egg noodles, fried egg, white and green onions and choice of meat. I went with chicken. Jeff had the Spicy Basil Chicken which is grilled chicken tenders, steamed broccoli, carrots, cauliflower, white rice and spicy basil Panang sauce. Who thinks he ate his veggies? LOL!

The entree’s didn’t have a ton of flavor, but they were good. We decided to go with something besides the Teriyaki Chicken. If we go back we’ll try something different.

A lot of new restaurants have opened in Trussville, so many decisions to make!! What’s next???
