College Football Hall of Fame

Before the football season we decided to take a last minute overnight trip to Atlanta to visit the College Football Hall of Fame. We had been talking about it for awhile, and decided that we needed to just go and stop just talking about going. So we decided that we wanted to do an overnight trip so that we’d have more time to spend at the museum. We booked a room at the Omni Hotel at the CNN Center downtown which is next door to the museum. Our room had some awesome views of Olympic Park. We also liked the Houndstooth carpet in our room!

Saturday we went to the museum. When you go in they give you a lanyard with a card on it and you register when you go in and you select the college that you want. Then at all of the interactive stations it will give you information about the college of your choice. We picked Bama of course!

We enjoyed the visit to the museum. It took us around an hour and a half to go through the three floors of exhibits on a day with no crowds. Many of the exhibits were interactive and we gave a few a try. We definitely recommend any college football fans should visit at least once.

We decided that while we were in the area we would check out the Varsity to see what all the fuss was about. Well it was a been there done that for us. I think had the food been freshly cooked it would have been better. But you know that as soon as you order and they place your food with a specialty burger, only ketchup, on a tray before drinks are even made, that it is pre-cooked and they just slap your condiments on it and push it out.

We can say we’ve been there at least.

Overall, though, it was a fun weekend and trip.
