We have had Ladybird Taco on our list of places to try since they opened. We decided to check them out. I had not studied the menu before we went. Let me just tell you this is some fancy taco’s y’all. This is in Mountain Brook Village near the Birmingham Zoo and Botanical Gardens.

We get there and this is the first time that I look at the menu. We made up our mind and when we get to the register they ask if we had been in before. The guy proceeds to tell us that normally people go with 2-4 tacos for a meal. We tell him thanks but we are going to stick with one each.

I chose the #7 which was brisket, potato, rajas and queso. What’s a raja you ask?? Well I had no idea when I ordered, I recognized everything else on it. Well I had to look it up and it’s a poblano pepper. Jeff went with the breakfast taco #2 which was potato, egg and cheese. Now these potatoes are like shredded hashbrown potatoes, so don’t go looking for cubed potatoes in your taco. We also had the Esquites (mexican street corn). We’ve tried it other places so if it’s on the menu we are going to try it. Well it had big pieces of onion in it and someone is not a fan of onion, so I ended up eating it myself. It was pretty good.

They have fancy drinks too LOL. I tried the watermelon aqua fresca and this tasted like fresh watermelon juice. Jeff had the Lavender Limeade.

Not going to be running back to this fancy taco place anytime soon, as there are so many other great places to check out in town. We would give it another try and get something different. We don’t completely cross them off the list after one try.
