Porch

We decided to meet for dinner after work a couple of weeks ago. We weren’t sure where we wanted to go, so we turned to Yelp. We both did some searching and made recommendations to each other and we decided to go with Porch in Crestline Village. After we arrived, Jeff admitted that he had not looked at the menu; shouldn’t that be a deciding factor for a picky eater?? Oh well, he knew that I would not suggest a place without something he would eat.

When we arrived we realized we had been to this building before but it was a different restaurant then, but neither of us could remember what it was when we ate there last. We knew it was an Italian place.

We were seated near the bar and the bartender was our waitress.

Jeff had the burger and fries and I somewhat ventured out and went with the Truffled Farro Bowl. It was toasted farro, roasted beets, brussels, grilled onions, goat cheese and balsamic and I added braised pork shoulder. I have to say it was pretty good and I even ate the roasted brussel sprouts. I’m not a fan of the cooked cabbage family, but this didn’t taste like cabbage. But I will say that if we go back I will try something different. While it was good, it is not something that I would get again just because the flavor combination was not my favorite.

Where will we eat next??
